THE AWARD-WINNING hotel and corporate hospitality complex, Rookery Manor near Weston-super-Mare has selected BIBIC as its charity for 2009.
Rookery Manor, which is based around a 16th Century hotel with six acres of formal landscaped gardens, a restaurant and extensive corporate hospitality facilities, has decided to select BIBIC for the end of 2008 and 2009 as its charity of the year.
Managing Director, Ian Clapp explained: "Rookery will continue to support the local clubs, societies, schools and various other organisations that ask us for help when we can but we will focus on BIBIC, which is a locally-based charity that has a big impact of people from the area, for the forthcoming year. We still do our utmost to help raise funds for our 'special' charity.
"We look forward to working with BIBIC on various fundraising schemes to be able to maximise our support for the charity. Rookery Manor provides a lot of backing for the community, and it is something we take great pride in doing."
Bibic is a national charity offering practical help to families caring for children with conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, development delay, traumatic and acquired brain injury and specific learning difficulties such as attention deficits hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia and dyspraxia.
Many of us take learning for granted. From birth we discover new skills and develop a fuller understanding of the world around us. For many children this process isn’t so easy. It can be difficult for them to make sense of the things that others take for granted. Bibic exists to help these children reach their full potential and live a fulfilling and more rewarding life.
